OBAMA NEEDS MORE MONEY!

I received the following email yesterday.

I can't believe these guys are still pushing for more donations. Isn't the election over?

Barack Obama will be sworn in as President of the United States of America on January 20th, 2009.

It will be an unprecedented event in the history of our country, and hundreds of thousands of people will come together in Washington, D.C. to share the moment.

Supporters like you made this happen. You know that real change comes from the bottom up, not from the top down, and Barack and Joe want you to join them on this historic day. They want to start off this administration with the people who worked so hard and will continue to fight for change with them.

Between now and January 8th, 10 supporters and their guests will be selected to join the Inaugural activities.

If you make a donation — in any amount — to make the Inauguration a success, you and a guest could be flown to Washington, D.C., put up in a hotel, and be there as Barack is sworn in as the 44th President.

Make a donation of $5 or more right now. You and a guest could receive your ticket to history.

Unlike past inaugurations, this year’s event will not be paid for by Washington lobbyists or corporations.

This campaign was funded by 4 million ordinary people giving only what they could afford, and Barack and Joe are counting on you again. Help start this administration off right — independent of the special interest donors who have shaped Washington for too long.

This Inauguration will be open to as many Americans as possible. We’ll all come together to celebrate the hope and optimism that define this movement for change.

But you could be one of 10 selected to join us in Washington for all Inaugural events. Any donation you make between now and January 8th counts — whatever you can afford.

Show your support for a different kind of politics and a different kind of inauguration with a donation of $5 or more today:

https://donate.pic2009.org/tickettohistory

The Inauguration will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. I hope you can join us.

Thank you,

David

OK Mr. President, watta ya gonna do?

In agreeing to provide federal assistance to General Motors and Chrysler, the White House demanded the firms cut worker compensation to the levels paid at the U.S. divisions of Toyota, Nissan and Honda. But Ron Gettelfinger, president of the United Auto Workers, said earlier this week that he would seek to remove the wage-reduction provision of the loan, calling it “an undue tax on the workers” who have already made “major” sacrifices for the benefit of the auto industry.

Gettelfinger said that what is being asked of the autoworkers is “unrealistic.” He has said he wants to work with President-elect Barack Obama to remove the wage provision.

The UAW has thrown the gauntlet. NOW WHAT?

TO HUSSEIN OR NOT TO HUSSEIN?

“Do you anticipate being sworn in as Barack Obama or Barack Hussein Obama?”

He replied: “I think the tradition is that they use all three names, and I will follow the tradition, not trying to make a statement one way or the other. I’ll do what everybody else does.”

EH, SORRY BRO. All presidents have not used their middle names when taking the oath of office. Jimmy Carter famously went as “Jimmy Carter.” Ronald Wilson Reagan took the oath as simply “Ronald Reagan.”

Harry Truman, of course, didn't have a middle name — just an initial that didn’t stand for anything — and was sworn in as “Harry S. Truman.”

The last three presidents have used their middle names: George Herbert Walker Bush, William Jefferson Clinton and George Walker Bush. So did Franklin Delano Roosevelt and John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

I personally could care less how Obama gets sworn-in, where I do have an issue is that during the election, people were chastised when they used the name Hussein. If you used Obama's middle name, it was assumed that your were making a Muslim reference, and therefore you were being derogatory. I also don't remember Obama publicly using his middle name........EVER!

I guess that when you're KING OF THE WORLD, you can use any name you want.

Can you say..................Barrack looks a little TESTY?

THE UNION'S 'BAGMAN'

I'll go on record right now and predict that VP Biden will be the BIG-TIME water-carrier for the unions in the Obama administration.

Thea Lee, assistant director of public policy at AFL-CIO, says she has gotten strong indications from “various sources” in the Obama transition that Biden will be a point-person for their concerns.

Biden has also selected Jared Bernstein, a strong labor advocate, as his chief economic adviser.

Just another example of the Obama pro-business agenda.

ENERGY & EPA

At a time when energy is at the forefront of our economy and economic future, Obama has selected Steven Chu as Sec. of Energy.

Obama also picked Carol Browner, whom many consider to be an eco-socialist to serve as his 'energy coordinator' (what is an Energy Coordinator? Who does she report to?) and Lisa Jackson to head EPA.

These 3 will have a huge impact on business on both national and international levels.
All 3 have one thing in common.

None of the 3 have spent any time in the private sector or have any business experience. NONE!

BELOW IS THE CAROL BROWNER VISION FOR U.S. ENERGY POLICY.
CAP AND TRADE, ENVIRO-SCIENTISTS (think Gore with a diploma) AS POLICY MAKERS, AND CENTRALIZED WASHINGTON CONTROL WILL BE THE RULE!

THIS IS ONE SCARY B*TCH FOLKS!

Looks like little Rham Emanuel, you know, the one with the 'sharp elbows', is in a bit of hot water.
The newly appointed Chief of Staff of the incoming Obama administration isn't talking to reporters, but he may have been talking to THE GOV.
How long before Emanuel and other Obama staffer have to appear before a Grand Jury in the Gov. Blago affair??

UPDATE:
Among those in Mr. Obama's inner circle, Mr. Emanuel had one of the closest relationships to Mr. Blagojevich, a Democrat. He had succeeded Mr. Blagojevich in 2002 to the House seat that covered Chicago's near north side. Read more...............
UPDATE II:
President-elect Barack Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is reportedly on 21 different taped conversations by the feds -- dealing with his boss' vacant Senate seat. And you wonder why he's not talking.
UPDATE III: 12-17-08

The president-elect’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, said today he won’t go to the Chicago presidential transition offices in order to avoid reporters trying to ask him whether he had contact with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich about the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama’s election.

Emanuel appeared “beet-red,” according to an ABC News cameraman who was invited inside by Emanuel to use his bathroom this morning.

“I’m getting regular death threats. You’ve put my home address on national television. I’m pissed at the networks. You’ve intruded too much, ” Emanuel said, according to the cameraman.

TOUGHEN-UP CHICAGO BOY!

The next sound you hear is little Rham getting thrown under the bus.

THOSE CHICKENS ARE COMING HOME TO ROOST.

At the Illinois State Fair in August 2006, Obama spoke on Blagojevich's behalf

"We've got a governor in Rod Blagojevich who has delivered consistently on behalf of the people of Illinois," Obama told the crowd.

Now I'm not going to pile-on Obama because of this Blago fiasco, but Obama is starting to remind me of a guy who blames everyone around him when bad things happen........while failing to see that he's the common denominator.

So far we have:

Rev. Wright
Never heard 20 years of sermons.

Tony Resko
Bought land at a discount, but now regrets it.

Gov. Blagojevich
I had no idea he was corrupt.

Jesse Jackson Jr.
Obama's Campaign National Co-Chair now involved in the Blago affair.

Bill Ayers
Just another guy in the neighborhood.

Rashid Khalidi
Long-time friend of the Obama's. Had no idea he hated Israel.

Bernadine Dohrn
Both worked with her at Sidley Austin and it's rumored that she 'mentored' Michelle. Just another gal in the neighborhood.

And he hasn't been sworn-in yet!!

FRIDAY GIGGLE

The rest of the world cannot understand how, after bitter election campaigns, American politicians can return to reality. For instance, Sarah Palin has invited to her great state of Alaska the men who defeated her... Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
She will provide a moose hunting trip for their enjoyment and has hired two other prominent men to assist them. Dick Cheney will instruct them in safe gun handling, and Ted Kennedy will drive them back to their cabins in the evening.
What a gal! That Sarah is such a sport and thinks of everything.

THIS IS REEEEEALLY GOING TO PISS-OFF THE LEFTIES!

June 9, 2008
North Carolina (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Monday he would impose a windfall profits tax on U.S. oil companies as he sought political gain from Americans' pain over high gasoline prices.

December 3, 2008
President-elect Barack Obama has shelved a proposal to slap the oil and gas companies with a new windfall profits tax because oil prices have dropped so much in recent months, the transition team confirmed today.
“President-elect Obama announced the policy during the campaign because oil prices were above $80 per barrel,” a transition aide said. “They are currently below that now and expected to stay below that.”

Obama: "Watta y'all smirking at?. Go ahead, shake hands. Come January, y'all be fist-bumping."
Don't you just love the look on Hillary's face?

BLING BLING!

On Wednesday July 9, 2008 while addressing a group in Pontiac Michigan, Michelle Obama made the following comment about the stimulus package:

"You're getting $600 - what can you do with that? Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn't pay down every bill every month," she said. "The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good that first month when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings."

We now find out that the BIG O is giving Michelle a little stimulus package of his own.

The Clintons CUT A DEAL for Sec. of State

Hillary has 'accepted' the Sec. of State post, but it wasn't easy.

The agreement was negotiated by Cheryl Mills, Robert Barnett, Bruce Lindsey and Doug Band on the Clinton side and John Podesta and Todd Stern on the Obama side.
4 lawyers on the Clinton side and 2 on Obama's side. Guess who got out-lawyered?

Here’s the full text of the internal guidance about the agreement:

“At the request of President-elect Obama, and to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest (Boy, one thing I know for sure is that; whenever you have to insert that language.......there's a conflict!) between the work of President Clinton and the service of Hillary Clinton should she be nominated and confirmed as Secretary of State, President Clinton is taking the following steps above and beyond the requirements of current laws and regulations.

— The Clinton Foundation will publish the names of everyone who has contributed since its founding in 1997 (this year).

— Should Senator Clinton be nominated and confirmed as Secretary of State, during her time of service, the Foundation will also publish the names of everyone who contributes going forward on an annual basis.

— The Foundation will separately incorporate CGI [the Clinton Global Initiative] from the Foundation; President Clinton will continue to host CGI gatherings, such as the one in NYC and its meetings for college and university students, as Founding Chairman of CGI.

— Although President Clinton will continue to invite participants to CGI events (which involves normal registration fees), he will not solicit 'sponsorship' contributions for CGI.

— CGI will also not host annual events outside the US and CGI will not solicit or accept foreign government contributions.
Key word is 'government' Everyone outside of a foreign government is fair-game.

— Given the extensive and life-saving work of the Clinton Foundation's HIV/AIDS Initiative which can and should continue, the Foundation will continue to fulfill its commitments funded by foreign governments (including, among others, Sweden Norway, France, Great Britain). In the event an existing contributing country chooses to substantially increase its commitment, or a new country, or government-owned entity, decides to contribute, the Foundation will share such proposed contributions with the State Department ethics officials. 'State Department ethics officials? With Hillary as its Secretary, that's a reach! State may also share the issue to the WH Counsel's office for review. To whatever extent there are conflict of interest concerns raised about such potential contributions related to Senator Clinton's service as Secretary, they will be conveyed to Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation for appropriate action.

— Same procedure to be followed for any foreign country contributors to CCI [Clinton Climate Initiative], CGSCI [Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative] and CHDI [Clinton Hunter Development Initiative].

— Regarding President Clinton's private work, during her tenure, President Clinton will share proposed hosts of speeches with the State Department ethics officials for their review, and as appropriate for review by the White House Counsel. Again, should there be conflict of interest (there's that pesky CONFLICT thing again!) concerns related to the Senator's anticipated service as Secretary, they will share those concerns with Senator and President Clinton for appropriate action. Appropriate action? As in: Bill, don't take any more Kuwaiti money.... or else.

— During her tenure as Secretary of State, should she be nominated and confirmed, President Clinton will share any proposed consultant relationships with State Department ethics officials, and the same procedures outlined above will apply here as well.

“None of these protocols is required by any law, and all of them go above and beyond the requirements of the law to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest. The procedures are, of course, in addition, to the already extensive laws and regulations government the activities of spouses of federal officials (such as those outlined in 5 USC 208 and related regulations).”

Sure seems like a lot of 'covering your ass' language, no?
Can't you just feel the air of confidence this agreement provides?
Has there ever been any more good faith shown to a former President?

Here is the 'upshot' of all this:

The State Department which has basically run amok regardless of who inhabits the White House, is now being headed by one of the shadiest character in the history of American politics. This shady character is married to THE shadiest character in American politics.
All the language in the world will not stop the Clintons from doing whatever they want, whenever they want, with whomever they want.
This deal has all the ingredients to be:
A foreign policy failure.
An embarrassment for Obama.
A money-maker for the Clintons.
