As early as Tuesday....................

Obama was preaching energy independence from foreign oil.

Today, it's a different story. WOW! IMAGINE THAT!

SALT LAKE CITY -- In his second reversal of a Bush administration decision, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Wednesday that he is scrapping leases for oil-shale development on federal land in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

Salazar rescinded a lease offer made last month for research, development and demonstration projects that could have led to oil-shale exploration on 1.9 million acres in the three states.

It was the second time Salazar has reversed the Bush administration. He also halted the leasing of oil and gas drilling parcels near national parks in Utah this month.

A trade association of independent oil and natural gas producers criticized Salazar's decision. "It's part of a pattern of decisions by the secretary that are detrimental to all sources of domestic energy," said Kathleen Sgamma, government affairs director for the Denver-based Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States.

China is on the move.
The video is a bit lengthy, but if you want to know what is happening outside of the US, you NEED to pay attention.

The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

Wednesday Attorney General Eric Holder said that the Obama administration will seek to reinstitute the assault weapons ban which expired in 2004 during the Bush administration.

"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

Oh, and there is this little piece of legislation working its way through several states.

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacturer, and a data base of all ammunition sales. So the government will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.(Including hand loaded ammo.) If the government can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot create wealth by dividing it.

MR. PRESIDENT.....................

You are a lying weasel!
This problem has been created by the same dinosaur Democrats you are asking to oversee this so called recovery. YEAH RIGHT!!!
You are a lying weasel when you blame banks for these problems. YOU endorsed the lax oversight that encouraged this. The Democrats that are the root cause of these problems are the same Democrats that are now writing legislation designed to cure this? IT'S BULLSHIT AND YOU KNOW IT!!!!
You ask for a renewed auto industry, but you say nothing about the dictatorship of the auto unions, which is the cancer of that industry. You are a charlatan and a full blown hypocrite!!!!
As I listen to this moron, I am embarrassed to think that this country has elected this 2 bit-clown. I am embarrassed to have this clown speak in my home.
If you are a tax paying American, this clown is nothing but an insult to everything you work for and everything you believe in. If you are a working, tax paying American, believe me, this guy is not your friend.
Mr. President, you say with a straight face that we cannot pass on a debt we can not pay. WHAT THE FUCK WHAT YOU DONE IN THE LAST 30 DAYS?????? You have saddled Americans with the biggest debt that has ever been imagined and you have already promised that there is more on the way.
Mr. President I have listened to you tonight and I say....F*CK YOU cause I'm not buying the bullshit you're selling

the Dow has gone from 9,448.54 to 7,114.78 a drop of 2,333.76 points.
We know how this administration loves to attack Wall St. but the reality is that Wall St. is the undisputed barometer of future business confidence. THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IS SAYING: OBAMA = NO CONFIDENCE!
This administration will continue to fool the MSM along with the idiot masses, but you can't fool us smart folk and you can't fool Wall St.

Tonight, this snake oil salesman, will further preach to us about his economic plan and his plans to cut the US deficit in half by the end of his term. If you're an idiot, you will buy what this clown is selling. If you're a non-producing leech, you'll jump for joy. If you're a working, tax paying American you will sit there gazing at the TV shaking your head.
By the end of his speech, anyone with an income of over $250K will feel like they are the root of all evil and although he won't address it tonight, I can assure you that anyone with a 401K, an IRA or any type or retirement program (excluding government workers) will be right in this clown's cross- hairs. HE'S COMING FOR THOSE ACCOUNTS!
Oh, and how appropriate is it that this clown is speaking on MARDI-GRAS!

You would drive around and see a bunch of these.

For some reason, they're not that popular anymore.

Those that carry the water vs. those that drink the water.

Looks like things are getting a little HOT!
Responsible folks are starting to realize that not only do we have to keep making our own mortgage payments, like we should, now we also have to subsidize the mortgages of losers!

In YET another example of Liberal Socialism gone awry. California in on the brink of bankruptcy.
For decades California has been the petri-dish of Liberalism. From encouraging homelessness, welcoming illegals, over-taxation of producers, prohibitive environmental regulations, and an anti-business environment, California has been the poster-child state of Liberalism.
Liberal Socialism hasn't worked anywhere, and it's not working in California. Why should it work in Washington? Why should it work nation-wide?
Meanwhile the Senator from California is in Rome.
California, you get what you deserve!

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) predicted on Thursday that none of his Senate colleagues would "have the chance" to read the entire final version of the $790-billion stimulus bill before the bill comes up for a final vote in Congress. DID YOU GET THAT? None of his Democrat colleagues!!!!

“No, I don’t think anyone will have the chance to [read the entire bill],” Lautenberg told

The final bill, crafted by a House-Senate conference committee, was posted on the Website of the House Appropriations Committe late Thurday in two PDF files.

The first PDF was 424 pages long and the second PDF was 575 pages long, making the total bill 999 pages long. The House is expected to vote on this 999-page bill Friday, and the Senate either later Friday or Saturday.

While campaigning for passage of his economic stimulus plan at the Caterpillar, Inc. plant in East Peoria, Illinois, yesterday President Barack Obama again claimed that "if Congress passes our plan, this company will be able to rehire some of the folks who were just laid off." But after the President had hopped back in his motorcade, ABC News asked Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens if what the President said was true: "I think realistically no. The truth is we're going to have more layoffs before we start hiring again."

Republicans Shut Out of Stimulus Conference Negotiations

House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-Ind.): “I think the American people deserve to know that legislation that would comprise an amount equal to the entire discretionary budget of the United States of America is being crafted without a single House Republican in the room.”

Official Republican conferees, Sens. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) and John Thune (R-S.D.) said that they had no participation in the Senate conference.

Although Republicans in Congress, the media, nor the American people have been allowed to read the bill, the House plans to vote on the plan today. The Senate will quickly follow suit so that the bill will hit President Barack Obama's desk by Monday. Even without the full benefit of digesting what is in this trillion dollar debt bill, over 200 economists have expressed their belief that this plan is destined to fail. And conservative economists that once supported the idea of a stimulus are now calling the current plan "An $800 Billion Mistake." Even center left economists like President Bill Clinton’s budget director, Alice Rivlin have told Congress that the long-term spending items in the plan "should not be put together hastily and lumped in with the anti-recession package."

The president's proposal to save banks is to give them money. OK.
Let me tell you why this won't work.

As an individual investor.......................I'M NOT PUTTING ANY CAPITAL IN BANK STOCKS! HERE'S WHY.

Banks that take TARP money will have to first pay dividends to the Treasury for its preferred shares before anything is paid to shareholders (ME). So, I'm getting no dividends and I'm only betting on a higher stock price. Not only that but, in the event of bankruptcy the Treasury is first in line.

Once a bank gets in bed with the government, the property rights of the bank stockholders become totally insecure. When the government gets in bed with a bank, or any business, they take over control..... and smart stockholders bail out. They would be fools not to!

Bank stocks are in the dumps because there is no investor (ME) confidence. Bank stock prices in the dump deflate the banks' capital, regardless of Treasury investments. Less capital makes them less likely to lend and therefore extremely likely to fail.

When you listen to the policies being enacted and implemented by this administration, one has to wonder if they really want to save banks or do they simply intend to 'break' them in order to take them......

Where's Waldo?...................I mean Hillary.

Hillary got the State gig, but since then she has literally disappeared.
Was Obama merely taking her off the political table? If that was his reasoning for appointing her, what does that tell us about Obama's foreign policy? Does this guy even care about foreign affairs?
Is it not wise for an administration to 'speak' with one voice when it comes to foreign policy? APPEARS NOT!

• Vice President Biden has moved vigorously to stake out foreign policy as his turf. His visit to Afghanistan, right before the Inauguration, could not but send a signal to Hillary that he would conduct foreign policy in the new administration, leaving Hillary in the role of backup.

• Richard Holbrooke, the former Balkan negotiator and U.N. ambassador, has been named special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan. He insisted on direct access to the president, a privilege he was denied during much of the Clinton years.

• Former Sen. George Mitchell (D-Maine), negotiator of the Irish Peace Accords, was appointed to be the administration’s point man on Arab-Israeli negotiations.

• Samantha Powers, Obama’s former campaign aide, who once called Hillary a “monster,” has been appointed to the National Security Council (NSC) as director of “multilateral affairs.”

• Gen. James L. Jones, Obama’s new national security adviser, has announced an expansion of the membership and role of the NSC. He pledges to eliminate “back channels” to the president and wants to grow the NSC’s role to accommodate the “dramatically different” challenges of the current world situation.

• Susan Rice, Obama’s new United Nations ambassador, insisted upon and got Cabinet rank for her portfolio, and she will presumably also have the same kind of access to Obama that she had as his chief foreign policy adviser during the campaign.

de Tocqueville said “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

You can now watch it live on TV!

You know you cannot just “enter” an Obama town hall meeting. They give out tickets in advance. Who gets the tickets? People who stand in line and wait. Who tells people when and where Obama will appear next? Certainly not the Secret Service who has to protect this man. Not the MSM, who are too busy telling us how great he is without asking any critical questions.

Sooooo… how does a 61 year-old homeless woman who’s living in a pickup truck with her son JUST HAPPEN to get a ticket so she can VERY PUBLICLY ask Prez. Obama for a HOUSE? Anyone? Who pushes her up on stage? She’s right at the front of the crowd. Did she just happen to get a seat there?

Now, within moments of this happening, it’s trumpeted all over the news. AND, surprise, surprise, the wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, Chene Thompson JUST HAPPENS to have a spare house worth $150,000 lying around, so she GIVES it to this unemployed, homeless, living-in-a-truck woman. They’ve been homeless for “more than a year”, which coincidentally, predates the current housing and banking crisis by quite a while. How did they learn about the “Obama Town Hall and Tent Revival”? Were homeless people simply rounded up? Did someone pre-canvas the area in search of “great, tear-jerking stories”? Of all the people in the audience, SHE’S one of the ones Obama chooses to ask a question?

Next time you hear Obama talk about the failed policies of the last eight this.

On the international front.............

The president said his administration was reviewing its policy toward Iran "looking at places where we can have constructive dialogue." He also said it was time for Iran to change its behavior.

"My expectation is in the coming months we will be looking for openings that can be created where we can start sitting across the table face to face," Obama said.

He said that Iran must understand that funding terrorist organizations and pursuing nuclear weapons are unacceptable.

Obama tried to brace the U.S. for tougher sacrifices ahead in Afghanistan, where he said the national government is limited and terrorists still find places to hide.

Did anyone hear the words international coalition? I didn't.

"I do not have a timetable for how long that's going to take," he said. "What I know is I'm not going to allow al-Qaida and (Osama) bin Laden to operate with impunity, planning attacks."

Does anyone think this guy has the stomach to actually wage a war in Afghanistan? Afghanistan is the place Super Powers go to die.

By the end of the 'speech' leaders across the world were either laughing or holding their heads in their hands.

Well, last night I sat down to watch the first unrehearsed act of the Obama administration.
My expectations weren’t high, as I’d witnessed his campaign style the last several years so I knew that with the help of a lap-dog press he would be able to ‘skate’ right through it. Boy, was I mistaken.
What I saw last night was a dark, brooding, rude, uncomfortable, and extremely insecure man. I saw a man that has trained for campaigning, but not governing. I saw a man that showed little experience in the art of decision-making and very comfortable ‘going along’ with the plans of others. I heard a man’s voice lilt at the first sign of semi-tough questions. I saw a flat-footed rookie receiver talking trash, yet unwilling to man-up and go up and get the ball.
For over two years our president has been called a rock star.
Last night I didn’t see Mick Jagger at Madison Sq. Garden. I didn’t see Stevie Wonder at the Hollywood Bowl, and I sure didn’t see Bono at Wembley. What I saw was Ike Turner at the lounge of the Vegas Hilton.

Why is the Obama administration trying to move the US census into the White House where it would be overseen by Rahm Emanuel????

'Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.'
Joseph Stalin

An average of 55 forecasters in the Jan. 15 Wall St. Journal survey expect real GDP to fall by another percentage point (a 2.1 percent drop in total) before recovering in the third quarter of this year. If they're right, this would be just the third deepest recession. NOT A CATASTROPHE!

The current unemployment rate of 7.6 percent is quite unlikely to reach the postwar record of 10.8 percent. But the Journal forecasters expect the jobless rate to top out at 8.9 percent after the recession is technically over - making this very close to becoming the second worst recession in terms of job loss. NOT A CATASTROPHE!

When you ad to this the extremely low interest rates we now have and compare them to the 18% rates of the Carter years. I looks even less ominous.

The president needs to be a calming voice right now, a source of strength. It's not helpful for him to be warning of a "catastrophe" and making vague, untenable allusions to the Great Depression. Unless he's looking at this from a pure political, power grabbing point of view. 'Me and mine are getting ours so screw the rest of the country'

Recessions have almost always ended within a year or so. Debts have to be worked down and excess inventories sold off so that profits, and therefore stock prices and wealth, can revive.

Such healing processes do not take years, as the president suggests - unless the government does too much foolish tinkering. But recovery will require more perspective and patience than we've been seeing from the White House lately, because time really does heal many economic wounds. Unless the White House and dinosaur Democrats keep picking at the scab.

Go and read what this guy has to say about our economy and the simple, tried, and true ways to fix our present-day economic problems.
Read what he has to say, and tell me whom you trust. This guy, or the socialist piker that now sits in the Oval Office?

November 2008 Obama Predictions.

Damn, I nailed them! Of course if you knew what Obama was all about, it wasn't that hard.
