In 2005, the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317, 000 nearly twice what her husband made as a Senator.
But when Mrs. Obama resigned, the hospital said her position will remain unfilled.
How can that possibly be? Especially if the work she did was vital enough to be worth $317,000? Oh, by the way, let me add that Michelle's position was a part time, 20 hour week job at $317,000.00 per year !!
Boy, that Mary Easley has nothing on Michelle Obama!

That's Hopey-Changey during the campaign openly admitting that his Cap & Tax legislation is going to skyrocket the cost of electricity. Electricity, you know that thing that powers everything we do. From heating water, running a computer, making ice in the fridge, or watching TV, it will all cost more. A LOT MORE!
And why is Hopey-Changey doing all this? It's all about saving the planet from the myth of man-made global warming, and further attacking American capitalism.
The WSJ pretty much sums it all up.
The hit to GDP is the real threat in this bill. The whole point of cap and trade is to hike the price of electricity and gas so that Americans will use less. These higher prices will show up not just in electricity bills or at the gas station but in every manufactured good, from food to cars. Consumers will cut back on spending, which in turn will cut back on production, which results in fewer jobs created or higher unemployment. Some companies will instead move their operations overseas, with the same result.
Here is the SPONSOR OF THE BILL, Henry Waxman, admitting he doesn't know the details about the bill they are dead-set on ramming down our throats.

Reacting to Obama's comment Tuesday that he is "appalled and outraged" by crackdowns in Iran, Ahmadinejad said, "Mr. Obama made a mistake to say those things ... our question is why he fell into this trap and said things that previously Bush used to say." "Do you want to speak with this tone? If that is your stance then what is left to talk about... I hope you avoid interfering in Iran's affairs and express your regret in a way that the Iranian nation is informed of it".
Clearly showing his hidden agenda, Hopey-Changey chose to not 'meddle' in the Iran situation. But choosing not to meddle basically threw the protesters under the bus and empowered Ahmadinejad. Nice move!
With the entire world taking notes, Hopey-Changey's 'favored' candidate has yet again bitch-slapped our brilliant Obama. Again, nice move!

These are not people who were promised a day in the park for a free rock concert, sausages and beer. These are people who are risking everything to go against an evil theocracy. It is no longer simply a matter of candidates, the Mullahs are in real danger of losing their power, and they know it.
Ronald Reagan stood at the Berlin Wall and demanded: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” In that moment the world changed. That was leadership.
There is an opportunity here of historical proportions. Two thirds of the population of Iran are under the age of thirty. Most of them are pro-American! These protests have the potential to take down a regime. The Iranian people are crying for democracy not theocracy.
Where are you Mr. President?
As a citizen of the world, why aren’t you decrying the violence and thuggery going on in Iran at this very moment?
As a human being, why aren’t you applauding the brave Iranian women tearing off their headscarves and leading this revolt?
Mr. President you told Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Mullahs that, “We will extend a hand if they will unclench their fist.” Sir, they are using that fist to hammer their own people for exercising the very human rights we hold dear.
Where are you Mr. President?
The Iranian people must know they are not alone, that free people across the planet stand with them.
Democracy was brought to the people of Iraq with the blood of our servicemen and women. Will you shed some television time to free the people in the streets of Iran?
As the president of a republic birthed out of revolution, will you hold out your hand to the revolutionaries who are ready to die in the streets of Tehran for freedom?
For the past five months I have seen you on the television eating cheeseburgers, pondering puppies, swatting flies and pushing fear-driven agendas. Will you have the audacity to take five minutes to broadcast a message of hope to the Iranian people?
With all due respect Sir, I believe this to be a defining moment in your presidency. For you to continue to remain silent will be nothing short of a moral failure that history will not soon forget.
Sir, you do not have to endorse any candidate, you only need to endorse democracy! Germany and France already have! Why can’t we?
We Americans, those of us who do not subscribe to the teachings of Saul Alinski, are extremely proud of our heritage. We hold ourselves to the standards and ideals of that “Shining City on the Hill.” We expect our President to act like the leader of the free world, not react like a Chicago politician.
Sir, destiny is calling and this is not the time to vote PRESENT.
Who are you Mr. President?

The President yesterday denounced the "extent of the fraud" and the "shocking" and "brutal" response of the Iranian regime to public demonstrations in Tehran these past four days.
"These elections are an atrocity," he said. "If [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad had made such progress since the last elections, if he won two-thirds of the vote, why such violence?" The statement named the regime as the cause of the outrage in Iran and, without meddling or picking favorites, stood up for Iranian democracy.
The President who spoke those words was.........................France's Nicolas Sarkozy.
Our President doesn't know RIGHT from LEFT.
What would Freud think????

Cheney quickly came out and b*tch-slapped Panetta, and today, we get this. "The Director does not believe the former Vice President wants an attack," CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano said in a statement to CNN. "He did not say that"
Oh okay..................................... Morocco Mole
Now that blood is running in the streets of Tehran, and the election clearly appears to be a sham, big tough Pres. Hopey-Changey is singing a different tune. Am I surprised? Of course not!
The hypocrisy emanating from this White House is astounding, and is clearly on parade when it comes to Israel and Iran.
On the one hand we have democratically elected Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who on Sunday abandoned his own long-held position and, to the huge disappointment of much of his political base, spoke of his willingness to accept a Palestinian state -- provided that the Palestinians give-up military pursuits, resettle Palestinian refugees in their own territory, and recognize Israel as a Jewish state, just as the U.N. did at the country's founding.
On the other hand there's Iranian President Ahmadinejad, Holocaust-denier,military nuclear power aspirant, and hater of anything West, who on Friday declared himself the winner of a rigged election. Since Friday, scores of opposition politicians have been arrested, intimidated, rallies have been banned, protesters have been shot and the possibility of an Iranian Tiananmen is but a foregone conclusion.
Question: Which one of these two leaders in going to get the Obama beat-down???

"I don't think this will lead to a pattern," Mr. Frank assured The Hill newspaper last week after word spread that his phone calls had secured a new lease on life for a GM facility in Norton, Mass.
The Obama administration has repeatedly said decisions by the new GM will be made by its executives without undue government influence. But influence doesn't have to take the form of overt orders from the White House to be "undue," as Mr. Frank's calls to GM CEO Fritz Henderson showed.
Mr. Frank says his involvement isn't likely to be replicated because the facility he went to bat for wasn't an auto plant or a dealership. He said keeping the distribution center open was environmentally sound because otherwise auto parts would have had to be trucked to New England from a facility in Philadelphia. Mr. Frank also waved off a suggestion that the episode proved that rules are needed to stop lawmakers from jawboning to keep plants or dealerships open.
"I can't make the connection" that would give the justification for such rules, Mr. Frank cheerfully says. After all, he added, he didn't call the Obama administration to keep the Norton facility open, but instead went right to GM management.
Hmm. That's an argument that disproves any hope of GM being run in a "nonpolitical" matter. On the contrary, the administration might have to intervene regularly just to protect the company from 535 legislators. GM Chief Henderson is hardly in a position to ignore requests from powerful committee chairmen like Mr. Frank, because GM will never be done needing government favors, from tax rebates for car buyers to fine-tuning of mileage rules.
-- John Fund
Of course, we've all heard Pres. Hopey-Changey say that HE has no interest in running a car company. He'll just let his minions do it.
NEXT UP: Health care.
Fetzer, a seasoned conservative, has a huge mountain to climb, but promised that pushing the Republican Party forward will not take place by moving the party to the 'mushy middle' Mushy middle, good choice of words!
If Fetzer can convince the party to speak in a CONSISTENTLY CONSERVATIVE voice, he may have success.

"It is considered an insult in the Arab world to show the sole of your shoe to someone. It is not a Jewish custom necessarily, but Israel feels enough a part of the Middle East after 60 years to be insulted too"
Ok, I get it, but to me, it's a little petty.
Here is what has me a little pissed.
That desk that Hopey Changey happens to have his feet on is the Resolute Desk, one of the, if not the most historic piece of furniture in the United States. Why would anyone put their feet up on that piece of history?
What's next? Light your cigarette at the John Kennedy grave torch?

Will Cairo/Islam 'buy' hope and change?
Pres. Hopey-Changey gave a nice inspirational speech this morning in Cairo.
"I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect,"
It was an appropriate speech............if the root of the problem was political.
The root of the problem is not political, Pres. Hopey-Changey.........it's religious and a 6,000 word speech will hardly eradicate the thousands of Madrasas that will foment tens of thousand young Muslims within an hour after your speech.
Pres. Hopey-Changey has reached out and has probably done all he can, and for that I give him a tip-of-the-hat, but reaching out is only effective if the other side also reaches out.
We shouldn't make a habit of reaching out...if we are reaching out into a vacuum.

Below are the TOP 10 'stops' on the OBAMA APOLOGY TOUR.
The tour makes stops this week in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
10. Apology for Guantanamo in Washington: “There is also no question that Guantanamo set back the moral authority that is America’s strongest currency in the world. … Rather than keeping us safer, the prison at Guantanamo has weakened American national security. It is a rallying cry for our enemies.”
9. Apology for the Mistakes of the CIA: “So don’t be discouraged by what’s happened in the last few weeks. Don’t be discouraged that we have to acknowledge potentially we’ve made some mistakes.”
8. Apology for U.S. Policy toward the Americas: “Too often, the United States has not pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors. We have been too easily distracted by other priorities, and have failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.”
7. Apology before the Turkish Parliament: “The United States is still working through some of our own darker periods in our history. … Our country still struggles with the legacies of slavery and segregation, the past treatment of Native Americans.”
6. Apology for Guantanamo in France: “I don’t believe that there is a contradiction between our security and our values. And when you start sacrificing your values, when you lose yourself, then over the long term that will make you less secure.”
5. Apology for the War on Terror: “Unfortunately, faced with an uncertain threat, our government made a series of hasty decisions. … In other words, we went off course.”
4. Apology at the G-20 Summit of World Leaders: “I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.”
3. Apology to the Summit of the Americas: “While the United States has done much to promote peace and prosperity in the hemisphere, we have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms. … So I’m here to launch a new chapter of engagement that will be sustained throughout my administration. The United States will be willing to acknowledge past errors where those errors have been made.”
2. Apology to the Muslim World: “We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.”
1. Apology to France and Europe: “Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”
"the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to -- or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world -- you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father -- obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago."
This comment comes as President Hopey Changey is heading to Saudi Arabia and Egypt on yet another Apology Tour.
I remember that during the primaries and election, any remote reference to Islam/Obama was taboo and at every opportunity, his Christianity was magnified. In May of 2008, while responding to a question about his father, Obama said: "My father was basically agnostic, as far as I can tell, and I didn't know him," Now the White House is broadcasting that his father was a Muslim. Which is it? Other folks are being a bit more direct.
Again, I don't think it's that big a deal, but I find it very curious that this comes out right before this weeks Apology Tour.

He doesn't want to run GM, but he turns down their restructuring proposal.
He wants to create jobs, but in one move he puts hundreds of thousands on the street.
He wants 'greener' cars, but won't allow GM to import the hot selling cars they make abroad.
GM has received 20 billion from taxpayers. Now they are going to get 30 billion more.
Where did the money go?
GM should have filed Chapter 11 months ago, but Obama wouldn't have been able to take it over. So Obama waited.
UAW gets a big piece of GM. What did the bondholders/stockholders get?
