ANOTHER BRILLIANT INTERNATIONAL POLICY MOVE.

At a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Havana, Raul Castro basically told Obama to STICK IT.

"Cuba has not imposed sanctions against the U.S." and "therefore it is not Cuba that has to make gestures." Castro told the press after being asked about Obama easing travel and money transfers with Cuba.

Another brilliant move by the Delicate Hawaiian Orchid in the White House.

REMEMBER VOODOO ECONOMICS?

This is voodoo economics on steroids!

WASHINGTON, April 29 (Reuters) - A baby in Texas has died of the H1N1 flu strain, the first confirmed death outside Mexico from a virus which health officials fear could cause a pandemic as it spread to two more countries in Europe.

Nearly a week after the threat emerged in Mexico, where up to 159 people have died, a U.S. official said on Wednesday a 23-month-old had died in the state bordering Mexico. A health official said the baby was Mexican and was in the United States for medical treatment.

Richard Besser, acting head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said he expected more bad news even though most of the 65 U.S. cases of the flu were mild.

"We're going to find more cases. We're going to find more severe cases and I expect that we'll continue to see additional deaths," he said. [nN29385038]

President Obama said the death showed it was time to take "utmost precautions" against the possible spread of the virus.

So the first US death is probably an illegal child coming to the US for treatment. THAT'S GREAT!

Will someone ask our fearless leader what 'utmost precautions' means?? How about border security!

HEY HUGO, TELL ME SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW!

(CNSNews.com) - Inspired by his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama at the Americas Summit, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez declared on Sunday that Venezuelan socialism has begun to reach the United States under the Obama administration.

“I am coming back from Trinidad and Tobago, from the Americas Summit where, without a doubt, the position that Venezuela and its government has always defended, especially starting 10 years ago, of resistance, dignity, sovereignty and independence has obtained in Port of Spain, one of the biggest victories of our history,” Chavez said.

“It would seem that the changes that started in Venezuela in the last decade of the 20th century have begun to reach North America,” he added.

Chavez made the comments Sunday to a crowd gathered for the 199th Commemoration of the Independence Declaration of Venezuela.

WASHINGTON - President Obama’s top economic advisers have determined that they can shore up the nation’s banking system without having to ask Congress for more money any time soon, according to administration officials.

In a significant shift, White House and Treasury Department officials now say they can stretch what is left of the $700 billion financial bailout fund further than they had expected a few months ago, simply by converting the government’s existing loans to the nation’s 19 biggest banks into common stock. Did you catch that? Common stock! As in bank ownership!

Converting those loans to common shareswould turn the federal aid into available capital for a bank — and give the government a large ownership stake in return.

ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION?

If you own bank stocks, how does this make you feel? Are you now more willing to hang on to those already battered, and now possibly diluted stocks? Are you going to to buy more?

Does anyone really think these guys are honestly trying to save our banking sysytem???? ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION????

WASHINGTON (AP) - The captured Somali pirate who held a merchant ship captain hostage will be brought to New York to face trial, a U.S. official said Thursday.

I wonder if the 6th amendment will kick-in??

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

Are we becoming the laughing stock of the world or what??

April 16 (Bloomberg) -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon, who today reported first-quarter profit that beat analysts’ expectations, said his firm could repay U.S. government rescue funds “tomorrow.”

Dimon, calling money received through the Troubled Asset Relief Program “a scarlet letter” and “the TARP baby,” said on a conference call today that the New York-based bank is awaiting guidance from the U.S. Treasury Department. “We could pay it back tomorrow,” he said.

The ball is in your court President Obama.

MORE G-20 NUGGETS

On March 27, 2009 Brazilian President Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva said:

"This is a crisis that was caused by white people with blue eyes. And before the crisis, they looked as if they knew everything about economics"

During a lunch at the Group of 20 summit in London, Obama shook hands with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and said: “This is my man, right here. I love this guy.”

Associate Press, April 2, 2009

It was also heartwarming to hear Russian President Medvedev call President Obama "my new comrade"
When asked about the talks he had with Obama, Medvedev responded. "I liked the talks. It is easy to talk to him. He can listen. The start of this relationship is quite good. This suits me quite well"

Please allow me to translate that for you.

FROM SPANISH TV, WE GET THIS LITTLE NUGGET.

:53 to 1:03 of the clip strikes me as very odd.

REMEMBER WHEN MOVEON.ORG RAN THIS COMMERCIAL?

$1 trillion!!!
I wonder if MOVEON.ORG and Democrats are now asking who's going to pay the Obama $10 trillion deficit????

ipod PART 2

I just thought you'd like to know that the ipod Obama gave the Queen yesterday was manufactured in........................CHINA.
Not only do I consider the gift to be insultingly childish, it's not even an American product.
If this is the best gift Obama could come up with, it certainly speaks volumes about his creativity, imagination, and awareness of American products.

In the YOU JUST CAN'T MAKE THIS UP DEPARTMENT.

Today, the Obamas met the Queen and presented her with a gift....................an ipod.
Yes, an ipod filled with pictures of her visit to the US.
These Obamas are a real classy bunch, heh?

Allow me to make some gift suggestion for the Obama visits to China and Russia.

For Chinese President Hu Jintao - a
Chinese checkers game and a box of firecrackers.

For Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev -
a model of a B-1 bomber and a copy of this.
LONDON (AP) - President Barack Obama has accepted an invitation to visit China later this year. The White House said Wednesday that Obama has accepted an invitation from President Hu Jintao. Obama and Hu met in London ahead of the G20 economic summit.

The White House also announced that Obama was accepting an invitation to visit Moscow this summer.

The White House says Obama and Hu agreed to "intensify coordination and cooperation on global economic and financial issues." As economic leaders, the United States and China say they want to work together to address the economic crisis.

The two countries also agreed to form a U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue. The White House says Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner would represent the United States during those talks.

Tim Geithner is going to represent the US in international economic policy!

B O H I C A baby!

Get ready America. Every time a Liberal president, or his cronies, sits down with countries that want to harm us........................we get screwed!

No, this is not an April Fools joke. I wish it was.
