Just over a year ago, Obama spoke those words at his inauguration.
Yesterday, following the Supreme Court decision on free-speech, he says that he needs "to develop a forceful response to this decision. The public interest requires nothing less."
Do we need to be reminded that this guy was a law professor, actually a senior lecturer, at the University of Chicago Law School for 12 freakin years.
How can a 'law professor' oppose a Supreme Court decision on a matter of simple constitutional law, and not respect the Court's authority, and most important, not honor that little thing called......................separation of powers?
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE, and why aren't constitutional scholars screaming from the rooftops!!!

To beat all, the Big O's special area of law is constitutional law.
You pose some good questions. What has happened to the constitutional law scholars? Maybe "originalist" is a dirty word. I know it is to my Congressional Rep.
Heard Rush yesterday, and he said that the tipping point for the Supreme Court was when the gov't lawyer arguing the case pointed out that the gov't could prevent the publishing of a 500 page book during the critical pre-election period if a candidate were endorsed even once somewhere in that book. Pretty frightening. Even scarier is that the vote was 5 to 4.
