The dissent thrown at Obama is nothing compared to what happened to Bush. It's the difference between disagreeing with policy and the direction of the country versus disgustingm hate-filled and dangerous personal attacks. I'm sure quite a bit of the 'dissent' Bush endured probably violated some Federal laws.
How many times did we see pictures of Bush and Cheney with bulls-eyes on them, or effigys of them being set on fire or being decapitated? Today you have the Tea Party, and whether you agree with them or not, all they are advocating is for government to follow the constitution. They are not fomenting revolution, or burning buildings, or paralyzing cities. Yet, in the media they are characterized as right-wing, militia type, white racists that are anti-Obama SIMPLY because he's black. The Democrat mantra has become: Don't discuss facts or engage in debate. When it comes to Conservatives, simply assassinate their character and the media will go along.
