MOTHER EARTH TO HAVE SAME RIGHTS AS HUMANS.

In the never-ending attempt to crush Capitalism, Bolivia will propose a U.N. treaty this month for the protection of what it calls nature’s fundamental rights. A “Ministry of Mother Earth” would be created, with an ombudsman to hear nature’s cries and translate them for bureaucrats.
"If you want to have balance, and you think that the only (entities) who have rights are humans or companies, then how can you reach balance?" Said Pablo Salon, Bolivia's ambassador to the UN. "But if you recognize that nature too has rights, and (if you provide) legal forms to protect and preserve those rights, then you can achieve balance." READ MORE
AAAAAAAH! So what we are talking about here is a global EPA run by the United Nations. Makes sense to me!

I think many of these people have very short memories or lack knowledge of history. At one point, 100% of humans lived in poverty. It was the move away from Feudalism towards the more business/trade friendly capitalism that helped reduce that percentage. Even China and India, under the leadership Dengxiao Peng and Manmohan Singh respectively, only began making a dent in extreme poverty when they opened up their systems to business. If these idiots in Boliva, and elsewhere, want to crush capitalism, fine. I'm sure they'll be happy drinking dirty water and shitting on the side of the street.

But I'm sure you realize that this is nothing but a ruse to open the door for Communism. You really think they give 2 $hits about Mother Nature?

History is littered with examples of how Communism has helped advance the human species/condition. I'm sure that's why these folks are using nature as a ruse to open that door, eh? ;-) Ha.

You mean the "Hey, we are Communists/Socialists and we want to take over your country" tactic doesn't work?

Oh yeah! That's why we have Progressives!

As I've said before, I think most rational people want to take care of the planet and most life on it. I know I do. But I'll do it on my terms because the 'real' environmental movement has been hijacked by people who have another agenda. Unfortunately, too many people buy into it and believe them.

The environmental movement, like most anything else, should be driven by the mind and not all emotion. Just like creating music or poetry, it's all about finding the right balance between logic and emotion...
