I took a few minutes yesterday to watch the Obama Health Care dog and pony show here in my office.

You know what! This Obama, and his health care plan is beginning to look like the ultimate psycho girlfriend (guys, you know the one).
At first, she was new, different, cutesy, and fun. But then................. things started to go sideways.

Now, despite the fact that we've made it 100% crystal clear we don't want to have anything to do with his freakin health care plan.................he just keeps calling and calling and calling and calling!

We're way beyond the irksome stage, and yesterday we passed the creepy phase. Today, the bitch is at the front door with a bottle of acid

The president reportedly is working on health care legislation intended to reconcile differences between House and Senate Democrats that could be attached to a budget bill and pass with only 51 Senate votes.
The White House signaled Thursday that an aggressive, all-Democratic strategy for overhauling the nation's health system remains a serious option, even as Obama invites Republicans to next week's televised summit to seek possible compromises.

UPDATE: Harry Reid is now saying that he plans on moving forward on the reconciliation in about 60 days. Beautiful move, Harry! Right around tax time!

“This morning the Obama Administration released a description of its health care proposal, and CBO has already received several requests to provide a cost estimate for that proposal. We had not previously received the proposal, and we have just begun the process of reviewing it—a process that will take some time, given the complexity of the issues involved. Although the proposal reflects many elements that were included in the health care bills passed by the House and the Senate last year, it modifies many of those elements and also includes new ones. Moreover, preparing a cost estimate requires very detailed specifications of numerous provisions, and the materials that were released this morning do not provide sufficient detail on all of the provisions. Therefore, CBO cannot provide a cost estimate for the proposal without additional detail, and, even if such detail were provided, analyzing the proposal would be a time-consuming process that could not be completed this week.”

Trouble is brewing over United States ice hockey goalie Jonathan Quick and the “Support Our Troops” slogan on his helmet. Slogans of this sort are banned under Olympic rules and Quick will be told to remove it, the International Ice Hockey Federation has told Reuters.

WASHINGTON — The Taliban’s top military commander was captured several days ago in Karachi, Pakistan, in a secret joint operation by Pakistani and American intelligence forces, according to American government officials.


Great news, but what I want to know is:
1. Is he being tortured? The NYT article stated that "his capture had provided a window into the Taliban and could lead to other senior officials"
So he's obviously talking. How did they get him to talk?
2. If he is being tortured, how can the Obama administration let that happen?
3. Why was this story 'sat-on'?
While I'm glad this guy got caught, he is in the hands of the Pakistanis, which aren't exactly our buddies.

L.A. UNIONS TELL THE MAYOR....NO THANKS!

Today, Los Angeles is in the hole to the tune of $212 million, and in a cost cutting measure, the mayor of L.A. has asked the unions to take a cut of 5% that would add $150 million to the general fund.
The unions represent 98 percent of L.A.'s municipal work force, which in turn accounts for 80 percent of the city budget, so that would seem like a good place to start, right?
So what was the union response to this reasonable request??? STICK IT!

Today, the first federal appeals court will hear arguments in a case that could establish new standards for locating cell phones and other wireless devices.
In this case, the Obama administration has argued that warrant-less tracking is permitted because Americans enjoy no "reasonable expectation of privacy" in their--or at least their cell phones'--whereabouts.
Did you hear that? "Warrant-less tracking" of your cell phone because you don't care about the government knowing where you are! REALLY!
U.S. Department of Justice lawyers say that "a customer's Fourth Amendment rights are not violated when the phone company reveals to the government its own records" that show where a mobile device placed and received calls.
Funny how everyone on the LEFT felt completely violated when the Bush administration wanted to listen-in on foreign terrorists. Yet, we don't hear BOO about this even when it involves every single American citizen.

I'm getting a little sick and tired of hearing Obama whine about inheriting the deficit from Bush, and making it sound as if he's just an innocent bystander.

Excuse me, but Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.

They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and let's not forget he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.

The ONLY deficit the Democrats inherited was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is: I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20, 2009

The era of big government has returned with a vengeance, in the form of the largest federal work force in modern history.

The Obama administration says the government will grow to 2.15 million employees this year, topping 2 million for the first time since President Clinton declared that "the era of big government is over" and joined forces with a Republican-led Congress in the 1990s to pare back the federal work force.
